    Missed this when it came out, thank you for sharing. Very interesting to see someone else’s take on this book. I agree with many of your points, though I’m not sure it’s entirely fair to criticize Gay for missing the Curtis documentary or not addressing the very broad critique of modern ecology that it apparently articulates (I didn’t see it). I think that would’ve taken her very far afield. At the risk of shameless self-promotion, my own thoughts on the book are here:
